Path of Liberation Resources

This page is designed as a support for students of Tergar's Path of Liberation curriculum. Here you will find introductory texts on the practices in .pdf format, links to practice materials, advice for practicing retreat, and images for visual support.

Please note that the Path of Liberation curriculum has gone through changes as of June 2016. The new track structure represents Mingyur Rinpoche's revisions in consultation with the senior Tergar lamas and instructors. 

As this material is for those who have received the required transmission and empowerment for these practices at a Tergar Path of Liberation retreat, we ask that you respect Mingyur Rinpoche's wishes and not share the instructions with anyone who does not meet the prerequisites.

There are two tracks of practice in the Path of Liberation:

Nectar of the Path Track

Who is this track for?

  • ~ Those who want a simpler form of practice with a short practice liturgy
  • ~ 30-60 minutes of time for daily practice
  • ~ Emphasis on nature of mind and contemplation
  • ~ 500 hours of practice required for completion
  • ~ Five levels, culminating in White Tara Sadhana
  •

Preliminary Practice Track

Who is this track for?

  • ~ Those preferring a more complex form of practice with ritual, movement, and visualization
  • ~ At least one to two hours for daily practice
  • ~ Emphasis on accumulation (prostration and mantra)
  • ~ Approximately 2000-2500 hours to completion
  • ~ Five levels, culminating in White Tara Sadhana
  •
